Privacy Policy

Word Ladder Saga ("the app") is a word puzzle game. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and your choices — in plain language, because there isn't much to disclose.

What we collect

• An anonymous identifier. When you first open the app, we create an anonymous account with a randomly generated ID. No name, email address, phone number, or other personal information is requested or collected — you never sign up or log in.
• Gameplay data. Your puzzle attempts, moves, completion status, and stats (like streaks) are stored on our server, linked only to that anonymous ID, so your progress persists across sessions on the same device.
• Leaderboard entries.If a puzzle has a daily leaderboard, it displays your moves used and score alongside either a generated handle or a display name you chose yourself. Setting a display name is optional and entirely up to you — we never ask for your real name, and you shouldn't enter one (or any other personal information) as your display name, since other players can see it. We never show the words you typed.

Ads and analytics

• Ads (mobile app only).The mobile app shows ads via Google AdMob — an interstitial ad after solving a puzzle, and an optional rewarded video if you choose to use a hint. AdMob collects your device's advertising ID and other technical data to select, serve, and measure ads, under Google's own privacy policy. The web version does not show ads.
• Analytics (web only).The web app uses Vercel Web Analytics to see aggregate traffic like page views and referrers. It doesn't use cookies or track you across sites, and doesn't collect anything that identifies you personally.

What we don't do

• No account signup — no email, phone number, or password is ever requested.
• No crash-reporting SDKs.
• We never sell your data, or share it with anyone for their own unrelated purposes.

Third-party services we use

• Supabase hosts our backend (anonymous accounts and gameplay data described above).
• Google AdMob (mobile app only) and Vercel Web Analytics(web only) — see "Ads and analytics" above.
• Dictionary lookups.When you tap the (i) button to see a word's definition, the app sends only that single word to a public dictionary API (dictionaryapi.dev for English, Wiktionary for Spanish) to fetch its definition. No identifying information is sent along with it.

Notifications

If you enable daily reminders, they are scheduled entirely on your own device. No push token or notification data is sent to or stored on our servers.

Your data, your choice

Because accounts are anonymous, there's no password-protected profile to manage — but you can still ask us to delete the gameplay data tied to your anonymous ID at any time by emailing us (see below). Uninstalling the app stops all local data collection (like scheduled reminders) immediately.

Children's privacy

The app doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, since no personal information is collected from any user in the first place.
